JohnMicrosoft GP Product Lead, is known for his leadership, which facilitates strong teamwork and positive working relationships.

John holds more than two decades of work in Microsoft Dynamics GP as a consultant, user, IT support, and controller. His breadth of experience includes working with hundreds of GP implementations. He has extensive experience with SQL and performance tuning and report writing using Excel, SSRS, and other tools. On the functional side, John has expertise in the distribution modules, including inventory, sales order processing, and purchase order processing.

John has a vast knowledge of and experience with SmartConnect integrations with GP and other ERP systems, including Business Central. John is also experienced with other technologies, including Windows Servers, Azure, and Power BI.

Whether you are new to GP or have been using it for a while, there always seems to be “new to you” ways to utilize the software.  In this session, I will share some of my favorite tips and tricks to use GP more efficiently.  From screen navigation, to printing, to data entry, there are many tips that I have seen and accumulated over the years.  This session will feature how to use GP without add-ins so it can apply to everyone who is using GP.  Come join this session to pick up some new ways to complete you work!

Intermediate SQL for GP

So you’ve been using SQL but want to understand more or enhance the usage of GP even more.  This session will dive deeper into some ways to get more out of your investment via SQL tools.  This session will cover maintenance plans to make sure SQL and GP are running efficiently.  A deeper dive into using views for reporting and optimizing the queries.  We will also review custom triggers and tables and have some Q&A time to answer questions.

 

 SQL 101 for GP

This is a beginner session for GP system admins.  In this session, we will cover basic tasks including backups, security and tables.  We will also discuss views used for reporting solutions inside and outside GP.  This session will also share resources for accessing GP data for troubleshooting and enhancing the use of GP.  If you administer GP and would like to be able to do more by feeling more comfortable with accessing SQL directly, this is the session for you.

Reporting Live Design – Excel and SSRS

This is an interactive session to customize existing reports or build new reports – all done live during the session.  We will use Excel Refreshable and SSRS reporting tools to develop these new reports.

This is a fun and interactive session – great to participate in being back in person.

Submit report ideas ahead of time to work on during this session or bring them up during the discussion.  We will save our SQL and reporting objects to be shared after the session is over!
